Why you need to drink Matcha Tea
Have you converted to matcha yet?
Matcha tea is BIG NEWS here in Melbourne. Everywhere I go, every cafe, every event... they are all serving matcha tea. Even I am now drinking matcha most mornings, and I'm pleased to report that I have noticed a big difference in my energy levels and mental clarity.
This led me to do a little research which I am going to summarise for you in bite sized pieces.
For those that have tried matcha, you'll know that it tastes like grass. And it can take a bit of getting used to. This is because you're drinking the whole leaf which has been ground down to powder. But, you can make it several ways to make it more palatable - more on that later.
Let's look at the benefits of Matcha for Women over 50
Matcha tea can support weight loss for women over 50 due to its high concentration of catechins, a type of polyphenol with metabolism-boosting properties. Unlike regular green tea in a tea bag, matcha is made from the whole tea leaf, providing a more potent dose of these antioxidants. These polyphenols are potent, they contain fibre, they can help enhance fat oxidation and thermogenesis, making the body burn more calories. Additionally, matcha provides a steady source of energy without the jitters of coffee, helping to sustain an active lifestyle. Win win!!
Studies in Japan have shown that matcha tea can shrink waistlines!!!
If you're not yet drinking matcha, can I tempt you to try it? Lucky for you, Arbonne makes a super high-grade matcha tea, mixed with MCT Oil (also great in Bullet Proof Coffee). The tea comes in sachets, perfectly measured and so easy to make. 30 sachets in one box.
I like to drink it neat with hot water, however I have made it with almond milk and ice, and I've also made a strawberry matcha drink (blend a handful of strawberries with non-dairy milk, then add lots of ice and the hot tea). The added MCT oil helps to fuel belly burn too!
