Make Teriyaki Sauce at Home
If you love Japanese teriyaki sauce, you will love this sauce.
This recipe makes a lot, which is great, because you can store it in the fridge for a couple of weeks.
To a saucepan or microwave jug, add:
4 tablespoons sugar
6 tablespoons mirin
8 tablespoons sake (or dry sherry)
10 tablespoons soy sauce
Heat until the sugar has dissolved and the alcohol has burnt off (if you use sake). I cook it for about 5-6 mins in the microwave.
Once cooled, store is a glass jar in the fridge.
Add as a sauce to vegetables, tofu, fish, meats, edamame beans. It's delicious!
I also love making a Miso Marinade.
