Get Jumping
Fun Fact: One of the best ways to maintain strong healthy bones is to do some jump training each week. This topic is currently getting a lot of press and media, and for good reason.
On her blog and in her book "Next Level", Dr Stacy T. Sims talks about Creating a Strong Skeleton and how jumping can improve bone mineral density. We know that strength training is super important, but adding in some jumping is like the icing on the cake. It's also very different from running and walking, which is very one-directional. Jumping on the other hand, puts a healthy stimulus on the bones, and your body likes that.
Next time you're out walking, add in some jumps. Aim for at least 10 to start with, increasing to 20 each time.
Enjoy!
