Immunity Shots

Inspired by a recent trip to Denmark, I decided to make my own immunity shots at home.

At every hotel we stayed at Denmark they offered shots on the breakfast buffet. Some shots were lemon, ginger, some contained beetroot, some contained berries. Suffice to say they were all delicious! Great for the whole family, it’s a great way to start your day.

To a high speed blender/Thermomix, add these ingredients:

  • Rind of 2 lemons (careful not to use the white pith)

  • Juice of 2 lemons

  • 5-10 cm piece of fresh ginger, chopped

  • 5cm piece of fresh turmeric chopped (I used 1 tspn powdered curcumin)

  • 200g fresh pineapple, chopped

  • 1-2 pinches of black ground pepper

  • A splash of cold water, just to break it up a little

Mix at a high speed for 1 minute. You can strain this, or simply pour into a glass bottle. Store in the fridge for up to 7 days.

PS This recipe contains pineapple for even extra Vitamin C.
