Transition to Plant Based Eating

How do you transition to plant based eating without upsetting the family? Here are my top tips:

Tip 1 – Take it Gradually

Start by having 1-2 plant based meals during the week, for example, have a Meatless Monday night, or Taco Tuesday dinner, and ditch the meat. As you start feeling more confident, increase the number of meatless meals.

Tip 2 – Focus on the Positive

There is such an incredible abundance of fabulous foods and meals that you can eat, so it’s important to focus on what you can eat, rather than what you’re missing.

Tip 3 – Move More

Move more. As you begin to feel lighter and clearer, incorporate more movement in your day. It doesn’t have to be hours pumping weights, it can as simple as walking for 30 minutes every day. Move your body more.

Tip 4 – Accept

If you come from a meat eating family, not everyone in your household will want to go plant based. Accept that that’s OK. I make meals that are plant based, and my family will cook their own meat on the side. It’s OK, and the two can co-exist.
