Having menopausal hot flashes?

I have been following an Australian guy called Simon Hill. If you haven’t heard about this guy, he is a highly credential nutrition expert, physio, lover of plants, and is an all round nice guy!

Having done all the heavy lifting and research, we hear from Simon Hill that eating a moderate amount of tofu (200g) every day has been shown to reduce hot flushes and their frequency and severity.

I know not everyone loves to eat tofu, however if you buy the firm tofu and add a good roubust flavouring (eg. teriyaki sauce), it really is quite yummy when fried in the frypan. Throw in 2-3-big handfuls of greens, and you’ve got a delicious dinner.

Teriyaki Sauce Ingredients:

2 1/2 tablespoons tamari
2 tablespoons sake or dry sherry
1 1/2 tablespoons mirin
1 tablespoon caster sugar

Teriyaki Sauce Method:

Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan. Heat on low until the sugar dissolves. Let cool and store in a jar in the fridge. I usually make a double batch.
Tip: You can also make this in the microwave in a large heatproof jug.

Enjoy!
