Sugar and Belly Fat

As women we are very conscious of sugar intake. I know I am. But we are human, and most of us love a little sugary, sweet treat. I know I do!

Now we know that eating processed sugary treats is not OK. I’m talking about the cakes, biscuits, pastries, breads, bagels, brownies, and so on.

And added sugar is one of the worst things about our diet today. Sugar is simply glucose and fructose. And too much high fructose is most likely to cause bad health and belly fat.

So in choosing a sugar alternative, you want to look for something with LOW fructose.

Which one is best?

In my experience, the best NATURAL sweetener that you can choose is maple syrup, because it’s the least processed. Brown rice syrup is also good as it’s low fructose. Honey is another good alternative as it contains polyphenols, which are good antioxidants.

Remember…agave syrup and high-fructose corn syrup are the worst. To be avoided at all costs. Look for these ingredients when you’re next out supermarket shopping.
