Cardio or Weights?

I started lifting weights at age 57.

Why we need to lift Part 1

After the age of 40, our hormones make it more difficult to maintain muscle mass and strength.

I noticed earlier this year that my body was losing muscle. I noticed that I was starting to get weak, I got a knee injury that wouldn't go away, and I was scared I would become one of those little old ladies that falls over and can't get back up again.

And so I got into the gym. With excellent guidance of course from an old mate @kyle.

What do we do in the gym?

Kyle and I meet once a week on a Friday, where we do a variety of exercises, including squats, deadlifts, planks and lots of other awesome things. Then I have "homework" that I have to do at least twice a week.

This has made such a difference to how I feel, my over strength, my posture, and it's helped with my tennis as well.

PLUS, I have also found that this type of training has helped me to reduce my menopot belly. Bonus!

Women over 50 need to do resistance training. I have learnt this the hard way. Don't let yourself waste away.
