Are you getting enough Protein?

Everyone becomes an expert when you mention that you eat plant-based most of the time.

The question I get the most is:

"How do you get your protein?"

For over 45 years I ate dairy, meat, dairy and more dairy, and thought I felt OK. That was until I gave up the dairy and was astounded at how much better I felt.

As a kid I remember being snotty all the time, having sinus issues all the time, and my nose was always red in winter. It wasn't until I gave up the dairy, and added more plant proteins that I began to feel more energetic, and today, in my late 50s, I can still fit into my favourite jeans from years ago.

These days I eat plant-based food about 90% of the time. If I feel like eating meat, I will.

There is an abundance of plant-based protein out there, and by having a protein shake in the mornings, adding things like beans. tofu and chickpeas during the day, I always manage to get enough protein. Oh did I mention I LOVE peanut and almond butter? A big dollop of nut butter adds that little extra protein.
